One More Seat is an independent Vietnamese craft and object design brand reimagining the humble stool through modernist design, cultural storytelling, and material experiments. Our first product, the Module Stool, transforms abandoned water pipes into modular, colorful seats that celebrate creativity, sustainability, and everyday Vietnamese life.
Our name, One More Seat, is drawn from Vietnamese coffee culture. Two stools to sit, and often one extra stool as a makeshift table while waiting for the coffee phin to drip. That waiting time becomes a moment of sharing and connection. To us, “one more seat” means more than just a place to sit — it is an invitation to pause, talk, and discover what we may have missed.
Born from a father–son collaboration — idea by the son, crafted by the father — the project reflects a journey from our home to other homes. By unlocking the hidden potential of everyday materials, we turn simple things found around the house into new objects that spark conversations and connections. Exhibited at Vietnam Design Week 2023 and the Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design 2024, the Module Stool marks the beginning of a design journey that blends tradition, innovation, and community.

Our first collection, The Urbanite, introduced the Module Stool in nine bold color variations inspired by the vibrancy of city life. More than just a debut, it marked our first step in bringing the Module Stool to market while laying the foundation for One More Seat’s evolving design language.
